Jyothirgamaya conducted a one day reading without seeing workshop in collaboration with Enable India Bangalore, and bookshare for forty blind participants from different parts of Kerala, the workshop was held at the Rajadhani hotel. The workshop covered the use of different apps such as eye-d and smart lens, which enables blind people to recognize images, objects and also familiarize with their surroundings, low vision ruby device was also introduced, and bookshare membership process was also explained. It was indeed very fruitful, We express our gratitude to Naveen of enable India, and also to Eldho and Akshay from RCG for sharing their expertise with us,and also to Dr.Homiyar head of bookshare for the whole Idea, and last but not least we thank the benevolent General Manager of Rajadhani Mr. RS. Pillai, and all other authorities for enabling us to conduct this workshop at their premises, and also for the plentiful meal they provided to our participants and faculty! |
Jyothirgamaya conducted training for all disabled employees of SBI (State Bank of India)across the state and was held at the head office Trivandrum. In the session what was heart touching was that Tiffany Brar shed light upon the challenges faced by persons with disabilities, and also touched upon what they can do to better their own lives, and also the lives of others with disabilities, she spoke about improving behaviour with customer accessible banking facilities, friendliness, highlighting our challenges before government authorities, and much more!
