On International Women’s Day, we have yet another feather added to our cap. It is indeed a proud moment for all of us at Jyothirgamaya Foundation witnessing our Founder, Tiffany Brar receiving the Nari Shakti Puraskar Award, the highest civilian honour for woman in India, from the Honourable President Shri Ram Nath Kovind. She receives this award for her inner passion towards gender equality, gender mainstreaming and enabling women with visual impairment to stand up and be aware of their rights. She advocates for inclusion and accessibility, whenever she gets the opportunity.

On the 7th of March, in the awardees interaction with our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, our Founder seizes her chances to advocate for her community. Firstly she touches the issue on currency notes not being accessible, secondly accessible roads and thirdly an inclusive India.

We were all very happy and proud of her achievement and efforts.
