HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2026

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Jyothirgamaya Foundation had a unique celebration. The first of its kind in the history of ten years of our inception. We celebrated the SHEROS -THE UNSUNG HEROS, the women from various marginalized communities and from economically weaker sections of the society who have gone through various challenges and difficulties in their lives.

We honoured them by listening to their unheard and untold stories and presenting them with a memento and a gift.

We were really moved to hear the stories of these women, how they fought the battles of various diseases, domestic violence, exploitation, poverty, degradation and much more.

We would like to express thanks to our sponsors Weavers Village, Bhoomika, Ramachandran Textiles for their kind assistance and for their boundless support. It is indeed an honor to have their collaboration in our program.

We sincerely show appreciation to each and everyone, volunteers, our team members for standing with us and making this event a great success.

We wish everyone a happy international women’s day. The theme for this year IWD is balancing our skills. We should balance our skills, empower each other and stay together as united women.

Gardening at Tiffy-Toffy in the month of October, 2025

Gardens can be a great place to cultivate a meaningful and entertaining learning experience for children. It would be able to offer children an opening to become skilled at the life cycle progression, by which plants are grown, as well as accountability, caretaking, self-determination, and environmental attentiveness.

At Tiify-Toffy Kindergarten school, we train our little kids in various gardening skills and how to harvest vegetables and fruits in a simple way. We thank our KG teachers for making this initiative and to develop harvesting knowledge in the minds of young ones.

Proud of our student Ratheesh

This is yet adding another feather to the cap in the journey of Jyothirgamaya Foundation. An article was published in Deshabhimani Malayalam newspaper on October, 2025 regarding our aspiring and energetic blind student, Ratheesh.

Ratheesh, became blind late in life, almost in his late fifty’s. He had retinal diseases and he was losing his sight. When he started working as a bar manager, he was hit by a customer with an alcohol bottle, which took away his sight completely. This did not deter Ratheesh from climbing the ladder to success, so he went to various blind organizations in his district and through a well known visually impaired professor he came to know about our organization Jyothirgamaya.

He completed the “Empowerment Training Program for the Blind course” and he excelled in access technology and mobility training curriculum. He learnt to travel on his own using a white cane, by bus and train independently. Ratheesh learnt to use computer and other assistive devices, and has also joined the training in “Saksharatha Mission” and is now in the process of getting a job.
